Summer Programs

Stanford Art, Design and Technology Summer Program

The two-week summer program at Stanford widened my horizon by equipping me with an exciting arsenal of artistic and digital tools. I learned to create using platforms such as Figma, New Art City, Adobe Aero, TouchDesigner, p5.js, and Teachable Machine. Exploring UI and UX taught me to step into the user’s shoes, to anticipate their needs, and to design experiences tailored to their comfort. I loved every moment of it. Forty-eight hours a week would have been normal, but I happily gave it fifty-six. Artistic dedication, or just very friendly coffee, who knows. Applying multiple tools in harmony, I created a 3D model of a smart dog collar that could detect a dog’s heartbeat and interpret its emotional state. To complete the ecosystem, I designed a connected app prototype on Figma, ensuring a smooth and empathetic user interface.

Girls who code

I participated in a summer program with Girls Who Code, and it became one of the most enjoyable chapters of my year. It introduced me to HTML/CSS and Cybersecurity and to a warm sisterhood of young women passionate about technology. In the Web Development course, I created 2 pages of my personal website on Replit that showcased my hobbies, skills, and achievements, giving me hands-on practice with front-end coding. In the Cybersecurity course, I applied concepts of digital safety and logical thinking to design a simple chatbot. I successfully completed both courses. More importantly, the experience strengthened my technical foundation and encouraged me to express my creativity through code, bringing imagination a little closer to real-world impact.
